International Red Panda Day
September 16

Celebrated concurrently with the global cleanup days, International Red Panda Day offers an opportunity to spotlight the plight of the red panda. This appealing creature is under threat due to habitat loss, human-wildlife conflicts, and illegal poaching. Alarmingly, the wild population is currently estimated at fewer than 10,000 individuals. This day strives to boost awareness about red pandas and rally support for conservation efforts in their native regions of Nepal, India, Bhutan, China, and Myanmar. It emphasizes our role in protecting these animals from extinction and preserving the rich biodiversity of our world.
